The White Power Group is a racist formation that was formed out of conflicts between Piper Chapman and Maria Ruiz's panty businesses and the racial tensions arising from the overpopulation with an increasing percentage of Dominican inmates. The group was accidentally initiated by Piper in "We'll Always Have Baltimore" in Season Four, and originally intended as a task force working against gang formation.
