Nita Reddy is the secretary of the governor of New York, responsible for negotiations with the inmates during the riot in Litchfield in Season Five. She serves as a tertiary antagonist of the season. She is protrayed by Gita Reddy.
Personality[]
Nita is shown to be very level-headed and intelligent. She was remorseful toward Maria Ruiz after she runs over to her daughter after releasing the hostages as a bargain.
Physical Appearence[]
Nita is a woman of Indian descent with long brown hair. She dresses very formally and has well-groomed eyebrows.
Biography[]
Season Five[]
Nita is first shown to be the secretary to Jack Pearson, and gives him information of the riot. ("Litchfield's Got Talent")
Taystee calls Nita before showing she is declining MCC's blood demands. Nita is shocked by this and helplessly tries to get her to stop. ("Flaming Hot Cheetos, Literally")
During the storm, Nita allows Maria Ruiz to see her daughter for five minutes for releasing the hostages, despite promising Gloria Mendoza furlough. Initially, Nita appears to be relieved that there have been no casualties during the storm, but then finds out and tells Joe Caputo and Natalie Figueroa that 10 inmates remain missing in the pool.
