John Robert Magaro is an American film, television and stage actor best known for his role in the 2012 movie Not Fade Away alongside James Gandolfini which was the first feature film debut of David Chase, creator of The Sopranos.[1]
He portrays Vince Muccio who married Lorna Morello in the final episode of Season Three.
Early Life And Career[]
He was raised in Akron, Ohio, USA.His Mother is from an Ashkenazi Jewish family (from Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, and Austria), Italian on his Father's. He was raised Jewish Orthodox the same as his Mother. Both of his parents were teachers. [2]
While attending school within the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District, he began acting in local theater, including shows at the Cleveland Play House, Goodyear Theater, Weathervane Playhouse and the Kent State Porthouse Theatre at Blossom Music Center. As a youth, Magaro also appeared in television commercials, and had a role in a Rescue 911 episode.[3]
He appeared in three episodes of Season Three of Orange Is the New Black which included the season finale "Trust No Bitch", "Ching Chong Chang" and "A Tittin' and a Hairin'". He also appears in Seasons Four and Five.
He also played a role in the biopic film Unbroken[4] directed by Angelina Jolie about an American prisoner of war in World War Two Japan and Olympic Athlete. He played the role of a prisoner named Frank A. Tinker, a fellow Italian American like the main character in the film. He was in the movies "The Big Short" playing Charles Geller, "Carol", "Overlord" and many others. He has been on Broadway, done the Netflix series "Umbrella Academy" and Amazon Prime shows "Jack Ryan" and "Crisis in Six Scenes". He also appeared in Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, The Good Wife, and Person of Interest on TV.
